Chelinda Lodge

Chelinda Lodge is situated in the centre of the Nyika National Park at 2100m, offering an incredible panoramic view across the rolling hills whilst the camp overlooks a trout-stocked dam. Chelinda Lodge, opened in July 2001, is built entirely of timber, logs and stone in a traditional log cabin style it has one of the best views in Africa. The lodge features eight individual double-storey log cabins with a central dining area. The first floor has an open plan bedroom and lounge with an en suite bathroom (shower and bath) and private verandah. Queen sized beds and wing back chairs are situated in front of an open log fire. A front door leads on to a small verandah. Upstairs there is a further living area including a writing desk underneath the front windows. All the cabins are connected by wooden walkways and are beautifully landscaped on the hillside. The main building has a large dining room, a comfortable lounge, reception area and curio shop. The catering is of the highest standard and includes a full English breakfast, cold lunches and three course dinners with coffee and tea at any time. As the only lodge in the Nyika National Park, guests are assured a totally private wilderness experience. In addition to excellent plains game viewing and bird watching on foot, horseback or 4x4, the area is home to millions of wild orchids that literally cover the hills with bright bursts of color during the flowering season.
