Linyanti Discoverer Camp

Linyanti Discoverer Camp has 5 unique, spacious, hexagonal meru walk-in tents which create a sense of connectedness to the Earth and nature, enhancing the view and the feeling of the wild and the untamed. The style of accommodation takes you back to the long-ago era of Africa’s exploration - on the ultimate Safari. Flowing linen of heavy, pure cottons, brass bucket showers, water jugs and hand basins, separate flushing toilets and shower areas all add to the atmosphere, while luxury comforts and amenities are provided, including a bush laundry service. The camp is elegantly set up under massive African ebony and knobthorn acacia trees overlooking panoramic vistas of the Linyanti Swamps. Private activities include game drives in the private northern sector of the Linyanti Concession exploring a range of habitats, from riverbanks to scrub and forest, which reveal a myriad of wildlife on their way to slake their thirst from the river. There is also a hammock lunch after a morning game drive at a secluded site, followed by a late afternoon canoe trip. The seldom-seen sitatunga antelope can also be spotted in the waterways in this area. In addition to expert guiding and hosting, the experience includes personalised service with staff preparing three-course meals over a campfire, eaten by the light of the stars and paraffin hurricane lanterns. This camp is only available as part of a Discoverer Safari scheduled departure trip such as the Great Wilderness Journey.
