Samburu Intrepids Camp

Samburu Intrepids Camp is a luxury safari lodge set in the semi-arid desert of northern Kenya, and has been designed to recreate the romance and charm of an East African safari as undertaken in the early years of the 20th century. Located in the Samburu National Reserve on the banks of the Uaaso Nyiro River, the club offers unique game viewing in its immediate surroundings. Shaded by tall acacia trees, the lodge is in a cool oasis. Its 27 tents are elevated on individual decks overlooking the river and shielded from the intense sun by thatched roofs. Tents are beautifully furnished and the elegant bathrooms even have double hand basins. They are the best Samburu has to offer: spacious, comfortable, handsomely furnished with hand-crafted mahogany furniture, oversized four poster beds, en suite bathrooms with showers, twin hand basins, running hot and cold water, flush toilets and electricity. Ceiling fans assure comfort during the heat of the day. The public buildings sit on stilts, providing the feeling of a fantasy tree house. Buffet luncheons and candlelight dinners are served on an elevated deck amidst the high shade trees. In addition to game drives within the Reserve, guests may enjoy escorted walks and camel rides outside of the reserve on the other side of the river.
