The Selinda Reserve covers 800 miles of the Selinda spillway linking the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti Swamps. The emphasis on this safari is exploring the surrounding wilderness on foot. Spend your first day at Selinda Lodge, situated among shaded riverine forest overlooking the Selinda floodplains. Game-viewing activities include both day and night drives in 4 x 4 vehicles and short walks in the vicinity of camp. The neighboring Zibalianja lagoon offers fine fishing and the opportunity to view the Linyanti Swamps by boat. You then set out on your walking trails in either the eastern or western Selinda region depending on flood levels in the Selinda Spillway. The trails area comprises open floodplains dotted with riparian forest and palm islands, ideal for this type of activity. Your mornings are usually spent walking from one campsite to the next with afternoon walks in the area around each camp. Zibalianja Camp, set on the edge of the Linyanti Swamps near the Zibalianja lagoon, provides a fitting end to your walking trails. Its position on an island affords a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding floodplains. This romantic camp accommodates only six guests in twin-bedded meru tents with en suite facilities. A canvas dining area atop an anthill is reminiscent of the style of safari camps of old. Open-air cuisine matches the finest to be found anywhere. Game-viewing activities include both day and night game drives and wilderness walks.
