Combining several “Classic Safari Camps of Africa”, we have put together a 10 night itinerary incorporating everything from boating on the Zambezi to walking in the remote wilderness of South Luangwa. You transfer by charter flight throughout, thus maximizing your time on safari. The safari begins in the South Luangwa Valley, at Nkwali Camp, located on Robin's private land, overlooking the National Park. The land is superb game viewing country, with a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grass plains. Elephants often cross the Luangwa, seen from the bar, or come to the waterhole near the thatched dining room. The chalets are cool and spacious. Access to the park is through the main entrance over the bridge, by boat from the camp or by the nearby pontoon. The area is famous for leopard and giraffe sightings. During your stay you participate in day and night game drives as well as wilderness walks. From Nkwali you continue onto either Tena Tena or Nsefu for another three days of brilliant guiding and game viewing. Being remote and so small, these camps offer great exclusivity with game viewing and bird watching scenes all to yourselves. You depart the South Luangwa Valley by charter flight into the Lower Zambezi Valley. Sausage Tree Camp is located in the Lower Zambezi National Park along the northern bank of the Zambezi River, downstream from Lake Kariba, opposite Mana Pools National Park. The Lower Zambezi National Park is unspoilt with stunning scenery and varied wildlife. The river is a focal point for the abundant wildlife including elephant, hippo, buffalo, zebra, lion, cheetah, leopard and various antelope species. The Lower Zambezi is renowned for excellent tiger fishing. All activities are designed to guest requirements and weather conditions prevailing at the time. You conclude your safari in style on the banks of the upper Zambezi River adjacent to Victoria Falls. Tongabezi Lodge is small and secluded, set in a tranquil grove of African ebony trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. Accommodation consists of five tented cottages and four spacious open-planned stone and thatch houses. All rooms have views of the river. Each house has unique architectural features, built in local materials, open-plan bedroom, four poster double bed with large airy mosquito canopy. Activities available during your stay include sunset and sunrise boat trips, fishing, bird walks, gorge walks, afternoon canoeing, visit to Zambian side of Victoria Falls, visit to Livingstone markets and the local Chief’s village, game drives in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. This is truly a celebration of Zambia – the “real” Africa.
