ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES

White Water Rafting

White water rafting in safariThe wildest white water run in the world is an exhilarating half or full day expedition, beginning with a descent into the 100 meter Batoka Gorge below Victoria Falls. The Zambezi River thunders through narrows no more than 40 feet wide and the resulting rapids form 12 foot waves (Grade 3, 4 and 5 rapids). The white water section of the Zambezi River below the Falls consists of a series of turbulent rapids, and calm, placid stretches in between to catch your breath! The trip ends with a steep walk out of the Gorge. White water rafting the Zambezi is a thrill of a lifetime. In addition, for those with the thirst for a thrill, rafting the Nile is not to be missed. It requires no special skills or fitness and is open to all mortals. Accompanied by skilled oarsmen, you raft through spectacular rapid after rapid. Rafting is also available on the Orange and Breede rivers in South Africa.
